blood results in–im not dying.  just thought id share : )

Ive been sick since wednesday of last week…stuffy nose, sore throat…it sucks!  So my mom talked me into coming home friday and going to the doctor, and im glad i did! these pills are freakin amazing.  i wish i could get refills and horde them for next time i get sick lol   But why i hate the doctor– this particular doctor was very bubbly and nice, and loud lol  but was concerned with my thyroid…??  what?  how could she even diagnose that in like 1 second?  well anyways, they had to take blood and do some tests.  I havent had bloodwork done since i was like 7, so i dont really remember it.  i basically freaked out. it was kinda funny. i was laughing and leaning away from the needle at the same time.  well she tries my arm first.  my veins are super tiny and they kept running away from the needle.  i felt like she was making scrambled eggs inside my arm!! gross.  so then finally she moved to my hand…and i know i am huge baby, but that crap hurt!  she did get a vein to stand up and get some blood, but this is why i hate the doctor! i went for antibiotics for a cold, and they take my blood!! crazy!

So i will have my work for sale in the maritime center giftshop on St. Simons Island, Georgia.  Im so freakin excited.  They came across my work and wanted to buy some bowls and cups–like at least 30 bowls for like 15-20 bucks a piece.  Jenny is super stoked.  I wont have to partake in the chili bowl sale our class is having for our NCECA trip, since im doing this.  People will probably be mad at me for not participating and helping out, but OH WELL, this is freakin awesome, and who would pass this up to have their work at an actual store?? haha    ok, just had to share my good news : )

p.s. little harry is graduating from obedience school tonight. Im so proud…tear.  lol

i really enjoy reading interviews with artists and the like, and especially when they spell color like colour or favorite like favourite.  I immediately imagine Amelie sitting in a cafe explaining her favourite colour she uses when painting….Its just a more sophisticated way of spelling something somewhat average.  I think Emma can relate me when i say i wish i was born in a different era–and a different country.  We used to say we’d go shopping and talk in an accent the whole day, and inevitably we’d get embarrassed and stop.  But it was still fun pretending we weren’t boring old Americans, like we came from a much more interesting place, just here visiting.  I think sometimes i just get complacent with my life, same things everyday, same sights.  Statesboro doesn’t have much to offer in the way of culture outside of the university.  (I dont know why this is bold…it wont go away!)

I went to a gallery opening last month expecting to see art……no, since this is statesboro, it was an art show devoted to old farm equipment.  I’m sorry, but an old rusty hook used to scrape out the crap from a horse’s hoof doesn’t inspire me.  Old bails of cotton and straw were put on pedestals like pieces of high art…which is interesting to think about for about a minute, until reality brings you back…its just cotton!  there’s a million pounds of it all around here, we see it everyday.  But i guess thats the point of the podium…elevating something into a higher art form.

ok, back to researching reliquaries for my sculpture project : )

Ive been trying to remember this chick’s name for weeks now, and i finally fumbled across it on itunes, and had to buy the album.  Corinne Bailey Rae–i love her!  I’m listening to her now swaying back and forth probably looking like an idiot, but i dont care! its great : )

I highly recommend her.
